Epic Fail: Funny F--- Ups in Print
It seems incredible how many people working with the written word use simple language like Steve Buscemi uses a wood chipper. Here are some great examples:
The Bible from 1631...
What's the one word a university should be able to spell correctly?
'Unlimited Possibilities' is one way of putting it...
I swear that this menu fail appearing next is a coincidence.
Did they feel silly or ssilly?
Another entry in the 'Worst Word to Spell Incorrectly' category.
In the 'Liable to Cause Brain Pain' category...
Final proof that editors are needed for TV too:
If you're running to be president of America, what's the one word you should spell correctly?
So what's the harm in making mistakes like this? No-one's died. Maybe not, but a lot of reputations have. That brand you've spend years building, that product you've spent years prototyping, and that book you've spent years writing....imagine pushing them all through a wood chipper.
Don't rush it out the door. Don't be proud. Hire an editor.
If you've got some more great examples of Epic Fails in the written word, post them in the comments and make the rest of us feel smart. Hopefully what you post won't be a mistake I've made in this post!
What are some of the most terrible mistakes you've seen in print? Please tell me all about them in the comments.
